It’s autumn so time to get the slow cooker out! This classic beef stew is warming on a cold wet day. My mum used to make this for me. American Pancakes

This is what we call our “New York Breakfast” (also known as Drop scones and Scotch pancakes). Before Emily, I used to make a Lorraine Pascal’s pancakes. The recipe included tablespoons of sugar (note plural!), a vanilla pod all of which were a no no once our daughter came along as I had visions of her bouncing off the ceiling from all the sugar!
